Abstract New whole-rock geochemical and detrital zircon U–Pb Lu–Hf data of metasedimentary sequences the Silvretta Nappe, Orobic Alps, Strona-Ceneri Zone, Gotthard Massif Venediger Nappe are presented. These units seem to share a common early middle Paleozoic geological record, which has alternatively been interpreted as result intraplate or orogenic processes.
